scope of application
The digital carbonation depth gauge is an instrument used to measure the depth of the carbonation layer on the measured surface when using the rebound method to determine the strength of concrete.
Product Introduction
Measurement accuracy: 0.01mm
Measurement range: 0-25mm
When measuring, place the measuring surface of the ruler frame against the top surface of the measured object, apply slight pressure with your left hand, do not tilt, and gently push the ruler body downwards with your right hand to adjust the tip of the ruler to align with the boundary between carbonized and non carbonized. Then take out the carbonized depth gauge for reading. After using the depth gauge, return the ruler body to its original position.
The measurement of carbonization depth value refers to Chapter 4.3 of the HT-225 manual.
4.3 Measurement of carbonization depth value
4.3.1 After the rebound value measurement is completed, the carbonization depth value should be measured at a representative location, and the number of measuring points should not be less than 30% of the number of measuring areas of the component. The average value should be taken as the carbonization depth value of each measuring area of the component. When the difference in carbonization depth values is greater than 2.0mm, the carbonization depth value should be measured in each measurement area.
4.3.2 Measurement of carbonation depth: Suitable tools can be used to form a hole with a diameter of about 15mm on the surface of the measurement area, and its depth should be greater than the carbonation depth of the concrete. The powder and debris in the holes should be removed completely and should not be washed with water. At the same time, a phenolphthalein alcohol solution with a concentration of 1% should be dropped on the edge of the inner wall of the hole. When the boundary between carbonized and non carbonized concrete is clear, a depth measuring tool should be used to measure the vertical distance from the interface of carbonized and non carbonized concrete to the surface of the concrete. The measurement should not be less than 3 times, and the average value should be taken. Each reading is accurate to 0.5mm.
